Pollster's general comment about their poll:
My rankings will begin the season with who I think is the better team, and gradually shift to being based only only what has happened in the season so far. My rankings use losses heavily, particularly to whom a you lost and how bad the loss was. The idea behind this is that every win tell us that the upper limit of the team is better than the level of play of the team they just beat, and every loss tells us that the lower limit of a team is below the level at which the team to whom they just lost played during that game. There are, however, far fewer losses than wins for a ranked team, so each one carries more weight when determining where their lower boundary is.
(Note: Starting at week 10, I'll throw out my poll each week and make a new one from scratch to avoid using prior polls.)
